For the 2nd blog post of genius hour, the beginning of learning how to do glass art I chose to do the character from the book I am currently reading and that is "The Promised Never land", the character is Norman. I thought it would be a nice idea to draw a character from a manga and an anime as a start, since it was already a book I am ready with an animated character that can be drawn and because I liked the first season. I used paintbrushes and paint that I got from Walmart, the glass I got from dollar tree along with other color paints. It was all going well until as you can tell the paints mixed. The eye blue color was put on the painting first since it is a small detail, it dried but the paints mixed because one of them was a liquid color paint so it washed out the blue and it smeared without me knowing until I turned around to look at it. For this reason, I will only use apple blossom paints to prevent paint from mixing. It has been a while since I have done my first glass painting so I am still new to this. In the end, this was how I painted Norman from “The Promised Never land” I really hope I improve along the way to make way better paintings than this one. Next time I have to buy the right paint and avoid liquid paints so the colors do not mix up even when the paint has dried, the paint that is preferable to use is the apple blossom brand paint, I have seen it been used by many other glass artists. Also expect to see a random cat in my next blog for the genius hour next week.
