For the 12 and LAST week of genius hour, I will be making my final google slides to present in my English 2 class where many students will be doing the same. I have about 25 google slides each explaining my presentation. I also have pictures of the things I drew these weeks. It was such a nice experience to do this project because I finally had time to get back to an old hobby and complete my wish. I got to draw 10 paintings and 10 paintings is a good number. I used lots of paint and different paintbrushes to complete this project and sometimes I used skinny sticks to outline. I definitely progressed in my own way but I did not become a professional glass painter which is understandable even though these weeks felt very short we all still managed to make these projects what they are. I think it was hard to come up with 300 words each week because sometimes I had no idea what to talk about. I am glad that this class gave us an opportunity to take this time to learn in our own ways. I some days did not feel as good as others but that as okay glass painting what a time i could relax and paint it was kinda of nice just to sit there and paint it never really bothered me. Sometimes it was hard to think about what I wanted to do like what character to draw I feel like I should have picked out the characters before like on week one but it's okay I still managed. I will definitely keep doing glass paintings in the future just because they were nice to do and I might improve even more. In the end I'm happy i got to do this and thanks for viewing my blog post.

For the 11th week of genius hour i felt a little sick and weak to think or to do any glass paintings so i have decided to show y'all my first glass paintings. My first glass painting ever was a character from an anime called “Akame Ga Kill”. Since i had no knowledge about glass painting only knowing that it looked cool i did not know yet comprehend the concept about glass painting. I thought it would be like painting on a canvas where you would paint then add the bright nice details (i took painting classes), but it was the opposite way when it cam to painting on glass. It made sense to me after a few tries. As you can tell i did not understand how to make the skin tone color for the finger heart painting i made. I did not know hot to make the details for the eyes so i would put a big white circle drop on and say “that is good enough”. I did so bad on my first one i remember being so impatient that i got a blow dryer so the paint could hurry and dry. I also remember giving up because it did not look right to me (Which it really was not right), and these first glass painting where made last year in 2020 then i stopped making them. When i heard about this genius hour project i thought about how this could be a great idea to pick up on this oldish hobby just because why not. Im glad i got to pick up on this hobby and finally had time to do it for fun. This project really helped me improve on my glass painting skills. Out of all the paintings my favorite one will always be the small dino. For the 10th week of genius hour i thought about making a childhood character from a show i think most of us used to watch and that is Scooby Doo! I decided to make scooby doo because it a show i liked and because i remember when i used to take painting classes i made a painting of Scooby but on a canvas not on glass. I used a reference photo of only Scoobys head just to make things easier. I ran out of glass so i went to the dollar store to get more. I did the little details first like always like his necklace which were yellow and blue then the insides of his ears and his tongue which i used red and white to make the color pink (even tho i already had pink paint) and for the hot pink i just added a little more red. I also colored in black spots like his nose and eyes. Lastly i did his skin color and tried my best to make it math the reference photo, i used brown and a tiny bit of white. In the end as usual i has some tiny mistakes but it turned out pretty good in my eyes. These paintings usually take me 2 our 3 days to complete because it takes some time to dry which if you're impatient then this might not be your favorite thing to do. I have a fan in my room an i keep it on then i lay the painting somewhere near not not to close because if i lay the painting directly beside it in front of it, it will make the wind smear the painting and it will make the paint go outside the lines. That is a mistake i would make when i first stared to make these. In the end thin is my 10th week genius hour painting and i hope you liked it. Have a good day. |
