For the 7th blog post of this week, I could not think about what new painting so I decided to make a painting I saw in world history I wanted to make a work of art I have seen a lot. Something that has meaning or that is a symbol, so I decided to paint "The Great Wave By Hokusai" because it looks very nicely made and interesting. What makes "The Great Wave" interesting is the way it was made by using a method named the ukiyo-e method. “The Ukiyo movement in Japanese is called the floating world meaning “miserable and floating”. This painting is one of the world’s most celebrated works of art. To me it is so nice it looks very well made and I love how it represents the symbol of not just tsunamis, but hurricanes and police crash into the sea so it represents this stopped movement but also distractions made by waves. For my painting, I feel like I did okay but I did mess up so it took me a while. The background color gray is not shown brightly even though I tried to make the background look the same as the reference. It is not the best but the painting came out good I just should have made a bigger version so if you need to zoom in on any of the paintings you can. I really liked the colors I used since blue is my favorite color. I have no idea how my white paint has not run out because I have used it in every painting so far and lots of it too. At the end is “The Great Wave by Hokusai” glass painting. For next week I have not yet decided what I will make but it will probably be some from some anime.
